Since its beginnings in 2009, Qatar Executive, the private jet charter subsidiary of Qatar Airways, has rapidly risen to become the leader in business aviation for private individuals, government bodies and corporations. During my time in Qatar Airways’ Digital Innovation team, the subsidiary tasked us with redesigning their web presence, a deeply outdated experience that didn’t reflect the brand’s luxury elegance.
Qatar Executive 2024
As the lead designer for the project, I wore many hats: From updating their digital brand and redefining their palette and typography (to align with the larger Qatar Airways brand), to completely re-envisioning their web experience on both desktop and mobile. I pared the color palette back to a very simple, light selection that would allow the content and imagery to shine while adding small touches of elegance with patterns and offset cut-outs. A digital design system was established and guidelines furnished for templates to be brought to life with ease for the engineering team. With the company’s regional focus, Arabic layouts were also created to maintain visually consistency.
A top concern for the team was ease of submitting a booking request — cutting down on time spent for executive assistants who had to book these requests on a moments notice. I created a reactive, focused booking flow to guide users one step at a time and not overwhelm.
An additional layer to the new web experience was a QVerse-like 360° feature for Qatar Executive’s entire fleet — 4 different aircraft in total. These interactive tours showcase features of each aircraft type, with maps and hotspot information included. I created UI based on the same technology as the full QVerse experience, applying Qatar Executive’s distinct brand style.
