Qatar Airways Mobile App 2021–2024

Re-launched in 2021, the Qatar Airways mobile app was the first phase of a company-wide shift towards a new, elevated digital brand. Shortly after joining, I was charged with expanding upon the mobile app’s guidelines, introducing new components, and establishing design templates for key screens.

UX ways of working, design principles, and key guidelines around component usage eventually influenced the work produced for all other digital channels, including QatarAirways.com, email marketing and social media.

In preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, I was tasked with designing a new feature for the Qatar Airways Mobile App that would engage customers with specialized experiences during the world’s biggest event.

Upon booking a flight and linking their Hayya Fan ID, users are presented with a new menu item in the app: World Cup. There, they can find upcoming matches for their chosen team, explore local recommendations and Qatar Airways Fan Zones, and play a location-based augmented reality game for a chance to win prizes large and small.
