Qatar Airways QVerse

Qatar Airways’ step into the future began in 2021 when they launched QVerse, an immersive online 360° experience that’s more than just a stunning preview of their award-winning products. QVerse is constantly expanding its features, allowing our customers to not only “try before they fly,” but to discover the lowest fares for 160+ destinations, book add-ons for their journey, and unlock hidden benefits.

As the flagship product of the Brand Innovation team at Qatar Airways, I’ve touched every part of the QVerse experience. My work for this unique project has involved discovering and evaluating user journeys, art direction and asset library design, directing and designing social media campaigns, and project management. QVerse’s continual iteration has meant keeping a pulse on trends in emerging online technologies and creating a design system flexible enough to both accommodate those technologies and call back to the Qatar Airways parent brand.

The Brand Innovation team are the stewards of Qatar Airways’ digital present and future: From working with emergent technologies for new customer experiences, to maintaining and improving upon the company’s entire digital ecosphere.

As the lead designer on the BI team, my priorities include: Defining, maintaining and expanding digital design standards; Conceptualizing and prototying new customer products with emergent technologies; and providing guidance and feedback on high-visibility digital products to ensure an elevated and consistent digital experience.

Qatar Airways App: World Cup Mode

In preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, I was tasked with designing a new feature for the Qatar Airways Mobile App that would engage customers with specialized experiences during the world’s biggest event.

Upon booking a flight and linking their Hayya Fan ID, users are presented with a new menu item in the app: World Cup. There, they can find upcoming matches for their chosen team, explore local recommendations and Qatar Airways Fan Zones, and play a location-based augmented reality game for a chance to win prizes large and small.

2wice Arts Foundation

2wice Arts Foundation is a New York-based non-profit founded in 1989 that supports the arts through publication and digital projects — most notably 2wice & Dance Ink Magazines, both historically important print publications focusing on contemporary dance.

I was approached by Abbott Miller’s team at Pentagram to both consult on design for the new digital face for 2wice, and to develop the site on a custom WordPress template. I worked closely with Abbott’s team to ensure the work was the central focus — the minimal design allows the rich imagery to draw the eye with variable layouts and UI that begs users to explore organically.

Michael Hoeweler

In 2014, I worked with lifestyle illustrator and friend Michael Hoeweler to design and develop a portfolio site that suited his needs at the time. Fast forward to 2019, that portfolio site was no longer standing up to the test of time, being a challenge to both navigate and update.

My primary focus for the new design was a streamlined, curated portfolio experience that showcases the brilliant work Michael creates for high-profile clients such as The New York Times and GQ. The new portfolio runs on a custom WordPress template that makes updating work and information easier than ever.

Güttinger

Since 2017, I’ve been releasing music under the name Güttinger. Melting together warped synths, ambient textures and off-kilter beats in pop music compositions, I’ve designed and developed artwork and websites to match, including a web experience for my 2018 EP The Magician.

AIA Baltimore / Baltimore Architecture Foundation

AIA Baltimore is one of the oldest chapters of the historic architecture organization in America. In addition to the primary chapter, AIA Baltimore also oversees the Baltimore Architecture Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preservation efforts and local programs.

I was commissioned by Ashton Design to design and develop AIA Baltimore and the Baltimore Architecture Foundation’s websites. I employed a custom-built WordPress template for easy updating and flexibility, maintaining a similar layout across both sites styled within their respective brands.
